The “Melted Masks” series is comprised from 100 paintings, each with a black background and different faces/masks relevant to people who I have encountered. The theoretical basis comes from inspiration of Nietzsche and Bakhtin’s discussion on the aesthetic significance of a mask. Masks can close gaps or distance differences between people. The mask’s surface function is to cover up, while humanity is still eager to communicate. Everyone has a mask to hide their true self. The dissolution of the mask explains the process of breaking away from the illusion and facing the self. I want to present the individuals surrounded by the noisy world with the peaceful, desolate, and lonely language of painting. This collection involves intelligently mashed-up video imagery of the mixed media paintings done on wood panels.

Each NFT is a One-of-A-Kind digital morphed GAN effects video based on my “Melted Masks” series, which includes 100 original paintings.
